Keep It Clean with Sanitation Services

Sanitation has been taken to a whole new level with Covid-19’s widespread entry into the world. It doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, so it’s up to us to follow proper practices and sanitation services for Covid to help keep those around us safe.

Here are some tips for keeping things clean.

Clean Surface Areas Regularly

Desks, phones, computers, countertops, and other surfaces get a lot of activity. It’s important to be sure these common touch spaces are disinfected and sanitized regularly.

Sickness of all kinds can be spread through various surfaces that become contaminated. We often don’t even realize that we rub our eyes or touch our mouth right after we handle that doorknob.

To be proactive, we need to keep those things sanitized throughout the day to reduce the spread of germs through touch.

Have a Cleaning Plan

A business should always have a cleaning plan in place to stay on top of sanitation. In this case, you can bring in a professional company to help with Covid sanitation services, but you also need a plan for routine cleaning and disinfection in between their visits.

This plan should consider the traffic in various locations and the types of surfaces that see common contact. Places that are touched a lot should be cleaned often and take priority for regular disinfection.

Clean Properly

You can clean and sanitize all day long but if it’s not being done right, it really won’t be as effective as you need or want it to be. In a business, be sure to train your staff on proper training protocol.

Help your employees understand the importance of sanitation, and find some way to help hold them accountable so it doesn’t get forgotten or missed throughout the day. A simple log might be useful.

You can typically follow the instructions of your cleaning product for proper safety and cleaning processes. Whenever you finish cleaning, be sure to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Know Your Surfaces

Different surfaces require different care, so it’s a good idea to know your surfaces so they can be cleaned properly. Here are some of the most common types of surfaces.

  • Soft surfaces (carpets, sofas and chairs, rugs, drapes, etc.)
  • Hard surfaces (doors, countertops, desks, etc.)
  • Electronic surfaces (remotes, keyboards, touch screens, etc.)
  • Laundry (linens, towels, clothing, etc.)

Each of these are best sanitized through specific processes. For example, you don’t want to use a ton of water on soft surfaces, and most laundry can be washed in a machine with the appropriate settings.

Things like electronics will require special care; these are sensitive surfaces, so you have to be sure to use something that won’t harm them.
